A Paddle in the fog

Day 6       June 9, 2011
We broke camp and loaded our boats before the fog rolled in. Decided to head for Catala Island anyway after plotting the way points as we couldn’t see the distant island. Soon I was able to identify Catala’s long flat shape and Twin Islands across from it on the horizon.
We did surf landings and after exploring the comfortable partially set up camp site decided to make camp here for the next few days.

A drift wood kitchen needed very little adaptation, the tent sites were on soft moss and there was decade’s worth of firewood in either direction on the beach. The view to the SW to Twin Islands could not be beat.
What is Barb collecting in her red bag?

Rocks!
In the afternoon we were inspired to walk adround the island to see how far we could get at high tide. We explored beach, caves and tide pools. Barb and I decided to talk a short cut back to camp thru the forest but it was so thick and lush it was impossible to navigate but we saw some great rainforest growth.
