Quest to Yellow Bluff

Day 7
First stop inside peculiar point where fresh water was found dripping from a sheer rock wall. We filled our water containers and washed in the refreshing pools below.

After Anna prepared a leisurely lunch of falafel filled pita’s we set out for the NW challenge of paddling into Yellow Bluff against a 25kt wind. It was impossible to stop paddling to take a rest or one would start floating in reverse.  I counted 300 steady strokes from Peculiar Pt into the bay without a break.
We arrived on the NW beach of Yellow Bluff in pairs and explored the lagoon side of the point and the inner bay. Fresh wolf prints decorated the wet sand. There was no way over to Tachu Point as the tide was up and the water passage too deep to cross on foot.
Back to Catala in early evening after wind subsided. We retired at dark spent after a day of hard work and play.
